The Moorings-Robertson & Caine Partnership

The Moorings-Robertson & Caine Partnership

Robertson & Caine may be young in comparison with The Moorings, but their reputation throughout the international marine sector precedes itself. When the South African-based company was founded in 1991, it began as a small business partnership, but it didn’t take long for this renowned yacht manufacturer to gain recognition and grow into one of the most celebrated catamaran builders in the world.

And thus, it seemed only fitting that The Moorings and Robertson & Caine—two industry-leading companies with a common interest and similar values—joined forces in 1994 to establish an official partnership. In 1996 the first order of Moorings catamarans set sail and in 2000 Leopard Catamarans was founded to satisfy the demand for private ownership of the popular charter cats. Since then, over 1700 blue water sailing and power catamarans have been produced under The Moorings-Robertson & Caine partnership, providing discerning customers with satisfying onboard experiences in some of the most exotic destinations around the globe.

Today, seven production lines around the port of Cape Town export 180+ yachts a year, and each maiden voyage is just as celebrated as the last. Through continuous collaboration efforts between The Moorings Sales & Marketing departments and the Robertson & Caine Product Development team, the fleet of sail and power catamarans produced are second-to-none and reflect what customers value most in a charter boat. The impressive list of awards and achievements speaks for itself.
