What is the best route to sail Procida?

Our Bay of Naples sailing itinerary takes you to the stunningly beautiful Phlegraean and Pontine islands stretching westward into the Tyrrhenian Sea from the Gulf of Naples, and to the picturesque harbors of the Amalfi coast on the Sorrento Peninsula just south of Naples in the region of Campania.

Both cruising grounds are enchanting and blend the bustle of chic ports of call, such as the Isle of Capri, with the quiet ambience of small Amalfi fishing villages such as Cetara which makes it an exquisite sailing route for families, friends, and couples alike!

How easy is it to island hop in the Bay of Naples?

If you want to spend your yacht charter channeling your inner adventurer and island hopping around the Bay of Naples, you’re in luck. Moving between these incredible, beautiful islands couldn’t be easier. Following our carefully created Procida itinerary, you’ll have the chance to explore a new island everyday, including:

Ischia
Ventotene
Ponza
Palmarola
Capri
Procida

How many days in Procida is enough?

It depends on how much of Italy you want to explore during your sensational yacht charter as to how many days is enough. A Bay of Naples sailing vacation typically centers on the Phlegraean and Pontine islands, and the Amalfi coast on the Sorrento Peninsula, though longer cruises can take sailors south to the wonderful Aeolian Islands.
We think a week is a great amount of time to uncover Procida’s treasures as you can discover a new island every day and still have plenty of time to relax and soak up the sun. Take a look at our 1-week Procida itinerary.

What are the best things to do in Procida?

While you are in Procida, take the opportunity to visit the surrounding cultural attractions, including:

  • Terra Murata – At around 57 miles above sea level, the highest point of the island, Terra Murata is an island on an island. An explorer’s dream, it is reachable only by a brisk climb where you can then admire an unbelievably breathtaking panorama of the whole Gulf of Naples and its Islands!
  • Marina Corricella – It is not only the most beautiful place in Procida but also one of the most beautiful places in the world. Pink, yellow, white, green and red are the colors that predominate in Corricella, a fishermen’s village built like an amphitheater on the sea and surrounded by nets all around the wharf. Corricella is only reachable by sea or by four stairways that add even more charm to the place.
  • Piazza dei Martiri (Semmarézio) – Also known as the terrace of Procida. A small piazza suspended between sky and sea, a crossroad between Corricella, Marina Grande and Terra Murata. If you want to learn more about the Procida’s history, the piazza’s role in one of the most tragic events in the history of the island makes it an important place to visit.

Watersports – The Bay of Naples is one of the most beautiful spots in the world for scuba diving and snorkeling. Spend your days out in the water, splashing around and creating memories that you’ll remember forever. For your convenience, you can add water toys to your charter prior to arrival at the base. The Moorings also provides fins, however you will need to purchase or bring your own masks and snorkels.

When is the best time to sail in Procida?

Very similar to our other destinations in the Mediterranean, Greece and Croatia, the best time to set sail in Procida is between May-October. During these months, you’ll enjoy sunny skies, warm waters and world-class sailing conditions!
We’d avoid the wetter months of November-February as conditions can be more severe. If you’re looking to enjoy some well-needed Winter sun, take a look at our Caribbean yacht charters.
